Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park History Lake Martin was an excellent location to visit before ending our Alabama go to the next day in Montgomery. The drive up State Freeway forty nine to StillWaters, after we obtained off Interstate 85, was scenic, and there was not a lot traffic. StillWaters is a peaceable gated community with condos, homes, Harbor Pointe Marina, and a golf course.
The apartment we stayed in was good! Snug, clean, great location, and great company. We had a good looking view of the lake and sunset from the balcony.
That night, all of us had steak dinners at a neighborhood restaurant called Poplar Dawg's. The steak and costs had been each excellent, and we had a first time expertise that night. The state of Alabama permits "brown bagging" or BYOB from home. We had been allowed to herald our personal bottle of wine to have with dinner for no cost! This was a pleasing surprise for us, since this is not allowed wherever that I do know of in Michigan. From what I learn on-line after this go to, it appears like restaurants can cost a corking charge at their discretion.
The following day, we went for a ship experience on Lake Martin . Lake Martin is one of the largest man made lakes within the United States. It was a cool day; however, it was sunny, the corporate was great, and we love boat rides! We loved a smooth experience with stunning scenery. The first 4 photos under had been taken whereas we had been on Lake Martin.
After we left StillWaters, we took AL-50/Martin Dam Street as a substitute of State Freeway forty nine, in order that we may drive by the dam and cease for an overlook view of the lake. We observed many flowering trees along State Freeway 50, which we had not seen the day before on State Freeway 49.
We thought Alabama was an excellent place to visit. Along with the Alabama resort evaluations that I've provided on this weblog, we also stopped at the united statesALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park . It was $2 to park the automotive and see the skin displays. If we had had more time, we might have toured the inside of the battleship too. Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park History
